So, you’re interested in starting a daycare service? That’s amazing, welcome! Running your own daycare business can be so rewarding. But it can also be pretty overwhelming, especially when you’re just getting started. That’s where we come in - we’re here to help your dreams of running a successful daycare business come true!

We help new and existing daycare providers by sharing valuable resources that contain everything you need to succeed. We do that here on our website, on our Facebook page and now also via our brand new subscription service, which you can find out more about a little further down.

So let's get right into it!

The first resource we think you'll love is our New Provider Start-Up Packet which contains everything you need to get your daycare business off the ground. From information about enrollment to policies on the pandemic to potty training, this Start-Up Packet really does have it all. It contains over $200 worth of documents for less than half the price! The Start-Up Packet is an invaluable asset that will allow you to hit the ground running with your daycare business. All documents included are also fully editable so you can customize them to fit your business' needs.

Next up are our monthly lesson plans. Our lesson plans are aimed at helping children develop in key learning areas. They are centered around our Kids Think Curriculum, which provides children with learning opportunities to help them become confident, successful, life-long learners. We have received outstanding feedback about our lesson plans and we try to ensure that they are as educational and enjoyable as possible for the children, you, and parents.

Now, we know running a successful daycare can mean having to keep on top of lots of things all at once. So why not take a look at our monthly meal plans and, in doing so, take away the stress of thinking up ideas for meals for your children. Our meal plans allow you to provide children with fun, nutritious meals without spending hours planning them yourself. All you have to do is make the meals, as all the planning is already done! And better yet, all our meal plans follow food guidelines to ensure only the best, most nutritious meals for your children.

Last but not least, we recently launched a brand new subscription service via email. Every month, we share an email newsletter to subscribers that contains valuable tips for daycare owners as well as words of encouragement, exclusive discounts, provider hacks, and more. Don’t miss out on our next monthly provider email, as we’ll be sharing our top tips on dealing with challenging children. We know sometimes it can get lonely running a daycare service, especially if you’re doing it all alone. Our newsletter aims to help remind you that although it may be hard right now, you really can build an amazing, successful daycare!

The way our subscription service works is you pay $5 a month via PayPal then on the 20th of each month, you will receive an email newsletter with lots of tips, advice, and words of encouragement. It's that easy! Our subscription service has been a great success so far and we’re working hard to make sure that we continue to deliver helpful information for you and your daycare business every single month. Find out more about our subscription service and sign up here.

And there we have it! Those are the resources we recommend to get started with your daycare business. We hope you find them as useful as we do. Remember, it may seem overwhelming but keeping organized will get you through it!

As a new (or existing) daycare provider, if there’s anything else you’d like to see from us, simply get in touch and we’d be more than happy to help.

If you have any comments or feedback for us, please do get in touch. We'd love to hear what you have to say!

Hey, there!

Now that we’re through Thanksgiving, we have just a few weeks before Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This means that there are still lots of good foods ahead of you.

For many, this is a hard time because most people tend to have the ambition to get in good shape as the new year rolls around. The problem is most people gain between 5 and 12 pounds in the 5 weeks prior to New Year’s Day. But, what if I told you that you can keep off all of the unwanted holiday weight and even get into better shape as you get through the holidays? All you need to do is follow these simple tips and you’ll be good to go!

(Note: The best part about this is you don’t even need to restrict yourself from any of the foods you want to eat)

The first tip I’d like to share is easy enough. Forget about late-night snacking. This, my friend, is where a majority of extra body weight comes from. It’s insane how much one can snack but if you cut off your snacking after dinner, you’ll get better sleep, your body recovers faster and you possibly keep off thousands of calories every week.

The next tip I want to share is to slow down and enjoy your meals. For some reason, people tend to eat much faster than they’re supposed to. Because our bodies have a delayed response when it comes to telling us when we’re full, it’s always best to eat slowly. This way, when we get the signal that our hunger is satisfied, we won’t have overeaten.

As for the last tip, I want to share with you today, it’s always a good idea to eat smaller portions on the days you don’t work out or aren’t physically active. I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy your favorite holiday foods. I’m just saying if you aren’t active, you simply don’t need as much. Remember, calories are simply fuel to keep your body running. If you fuel yourself too much, the end result is your body converting those extra calories to body fat.

There are a lot of great little tips and tricks to keep you looking and feeling your absolute best but I feel like these are the easiest that work really well and don’t make it feel like you're sacrificing anything.

Matt

The holiday season is upon us! Starting with Thanksgiving, we now have a month of shopping, hopefully enjoying the company of close, loved ones and... eating all of that yummy food. Actually, this is exactly what today's blog is all about. As crazy as things can get during this time of year, the one thing that we tend to have the hardest time with is keeping the holiday weight off.

Of course, it's tough. We all want to enjoy the holidays without feeling restricted but we also want to avoid any weight gain. (Fun Fact: The average American gains 5-12 pounds of fat between Thanksgiving and New Years Day). So the question is, how do I have the best of both worlds?

Fortunately, there is a way and I'm going to tell you. You see, the biggest problem with indulging in the holidays isn't just what we're eating. It's also the amount of food we're eating. So, let's dive into 5 simple steps you can take to help avoid the holiday weight gain without feeling like we've given up what makes these holiday meals so great!

1) Save your carbohydrate loaded foods for last - We all love our mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and stuffing. The problem is these foods are responsible for the actual weight gain we experience every year. They spike insulin production and quickly convert to body fat. Instead, eat protein rich foods like your turkey and ham first. Then, veggies. Afterward, enjoy your carb-rich foods. You'll notice that you won't be able to eat quite as much of them as you normally would.

2) Slow down - Did you know it takes about 20 minutes for your body to send a signal to your brain to tell you that you're full? Well, if you're a fast eater, you may very well be overeating. If you just slow it down a bit, you should be able to avoid that second plate of food... at least for a little while. You'll notice that you won't feel as bloated, groggy, and tired afterward.

3) Avoid stress - Stress happens to be one of the biggest contributors to fat gain that most people aren't aware of. When you constantly stress out, your body creates higher levels of the stress hormone called cortisol. When you produce such high levels, it can mess with your insulin production, causing your body to produce more blood sugar. If not used quickly, it converts to fat. So, whenever you're feeling a little overwhelmed, just take a few minutes to kick back and relax.

4) Stick to one serving of dessert - This one kills me to write, but it's actually some of the best advice I can give. Over the next month or so, there's going to be an abundance of sweets around you all of the time. Now, I'm not telling you to not have dessert during these festive times. What I'm suggesting is you stick to one serving. Yes, we all want a slice of every pie, cake, and ice cream but we must also keep control. Keeping the desserts in check can keep a few pounds off.

5) Stay active - It seems obvious but staying active is a great way to burn those meals away. Not only that, regular physical activity is a huge stress reducer (refer to tip #3), keeps your energy elevated, and helps you maintain a higher metabolism. You can get your activity by exercising, doing manual labor around the house, or just playing outside with the kids.

Try using these 5 tips to make sure you're still looking and feeling your absolute best as you venture into the new year. You'll be surprised how effective these tips are when they're implemented. Every year I have a couple of clients that take advantage of these and some of them actually end up in better shape going into the new year than they were going into the holidays!
