Gingerbread Village Activity Plans (Ages 2–5 Years)
The Gingerbread Village Activity Plans are a month-long preschool curriculum designed for children ages 2–5 years, featuring four weekly themed lesson plans that encourage learning through hands-on exploration, creativity, and play.
 
Week 1: Gingerbread Town Explorers
Children explore the concept of community and cooperation through imaginative play and hands-on activities. By building and engaging in their own Gingerbread Village, children develop social-emotional skills such as teamwork and sharing, strengthen early cognitive skills like counting and sequencing, and participate in sensory experiences that spark curiosity and creativity.
 
Week 2: Sweet & Spicy Creations
Children explore the sensory properties of sweet and spicy ingredients through art, science, and play-based activities. They build an understanding of different textures, scents, and flavors while enhancing sensory awareness and creativity. Group discussions and cooperative activities encourage children to express preferences, use descriptive language, and work together.
 
Week 3: Wintery Wonderland Village
Children explore the beauty of winter through sensory, art, and science activities that highlight snowy landscapes, winter animals, and seasonal changes. Hands-on projects and imaginative play support fine motor development, early math skills such as counting and patterning, and social-emotional awareness through conversations about caring for others during winter.
 
Week 4: Frosty Friends & Family
This week focuses on friendship, kindness, and connection. Through stories, group activities, and imaginative play, children strengthen social-emotional skills by practicing teamwork, expressing appreciation, and learning ways to care for one another.
Throughout the month, children also engage in activities that support fine motor development and early pattern recognition, including visual and tactile skill-building experiences.
